Changing switch number on standalone Cisco Catalyst 3850 switch

How to change the switch number of a Cisco Catalyst 3850 switch. Would you only need to do this when you decommission a switch from an existing stack, so when you boot the switch your interface numbers starts from 3/0/x instead of 1/0/x.
To change this you need to go into rommon mode and preform the following: From the bootloader switch: 
prompt with the command set SWITCH_NUMBER stack-member-number.
