For this test case I requested for a 2 night reservation between 8th to 10th of November for 4 person. Total of this booking is $314. Please pay attention to the breakdown of the figures as it clearly states that my room cost $100 per night (this is the room rate between the selected dates, the room rate may vary during different weeks or months in the year and also vary base on the number of people per booking).
The booking also includes a once off $80 cleaning fee which gets paid to the cleaners that makes/tidy up the apartment after you checked out. Airbnb then adds a service charge of $34 (this fee covers the maintenance of the platform and 24/7 support should you need it).
The total amount to be charge on your credit card is $314.
Please refer to the screenshot below and notice that the room rate has increased from $100 per night to $140 per night; this change after modding the reservation from 4 guest to 6.
Within my listing I have listed a base price for 4 guest however there will be a $20 charge per person per night for the 5th and 6th guest. You can also noticed that the Airbnb service fee has increased from $34 to $44. The service fee is a percentage value of the total booking amount.
I have set a security deposit of $300 for each booking. This deposit will not be charge on top of your booking payment.
I can make a claim to a portion or entire amount to this deposit in an event of a dispute. I would need to raise this dispute with you on Airbnb however if both parties are not successful in reaching a resolution Airbnb will get involved. For more information please read this.
All pricing on this guide is in AUD. On your computer you might have the currency setting set to your home currency. This setting is listed at the bottom of the Airbnb website as shown below.
If you have the currency set to your home currency the exchange rate will be applied from Airbnb's system.
